SOC 2 is an auditing framework developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) for service organizations. A SOC 2 report evaluates whether a service organization's controls meet the Trust Service Criteria for security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. SOC 2 is an attestation issued by a licensed CPA firm - not a certification.
