The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), effective January 2020, gives California consumers rights to know what personal information businesses collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of their data. It applies to for-profit businesses meeting thresholds based on revenue, data volume, or revenue derived from selling personal information.
